The Rock-n-Roll world lost a true legend last night when Ronnie Montrose succumbed to cancer at 64. He worked right to the very end. In fact, he had a show slated for April with Randy Monroe’s other band – RockSkool and former HOT FOR TEACHER Guitarist, Terry Lauderdale’s solo project.

Ronnie was an innovator of the hard rock guitar sound. He was the first true “shredder” and from his sound spawned a slew of guitar phenomenons such as Eddie Van Halen and Producer, Mike Varney’s guitar gang at Shrapnel Records including such guitar greats as Yngwie Malmsteen, Warren Haynes, and Jason Becker to name a few.

Ronnie will be extremely missed, but his legacy will live on.

Our deepest condolences go out to Ronnie’s family for their loss.

Randy Monroe, Jude Gold and Jesse Scott of HOT FOR TEACHER were on hand last night to cheer their friend at the “world premier” for the long anticipated movie Jason Becker: Not Dead Yet. A beautiful and touching story of a family’s love and strength and man’s courage and undying passion to create. Included were a few cameo shots of Randy at the movie’s end performing for his famed friend at last year’s benefit in San Francisco that shared the same name as the movie.

Jason Becker is an amazing man, talent and friend. The World Premier of “Not Dead Yet” is this evening at the California Theater in San Jose starting at 6:30PM. We hope to see you all there!

Also on the Home Page, we’ve included a nifty calendar where you can see where HOT FOR TEACHER is playing next.  By clicking on the Show date, you can get all the details which include an integrated Google map to the venue and a link to pre-sale tickets (when available).  The Shows Page will also give you the ability to leave a comment about the show.  So, let us know if you’re coming or what you thought of the performance after the show.

With the popularity of YouTube at an all-time high, we have decided to use YoutTube exclusively on the new website.  Over time, new videos will be added to the site and included in News Pages and even in some of the Show Pages!
