RockSkool definitely knows how to Rock! These five talented and professional musicians have decades of combined performing experience. They are experts at performing a huge catalog of songs – so the entertainment seems to go on forever!
The group’s front-man, Randy Monroe, gets crowds singing, dancing, and cheering for more. Skilled in three octaves, he is a classically trained baritone and tenor. Since 1999 he has also been the lead vocalist and co-founder of HOT FOR TEACHER: the Van Halen Experience; an industry favorite! Randy proudly possesses a Master of Science and is an award-winning middle school science teacher and scientist. A powerhouse with soul, he understands the science of rocks, and ROCK!
Shredding guitarist Terry Lauderdale handles the lead guitar riffs with impeccable timing and finesse. Terry began playing and performing at an early age while studying classically. Influenced by the world’s leading hard rocking guitar gods, Terry became a virtuoso and subsequent tremolo master; who continues to dazzle and make a lasting impact on audiences everywhere. Giving his time to teach other aspiring guitarists, Terry has taught guitar lessons for his high school’s music program and he continues to tutor privately still. Over the years, he has shared stages with many rock stars and performs regularly with HOT FOR TEACHER; which he co-founded with Monroe.
Double-duty keyboardist & rhythm guitarist David von Holder is a master of sound, programming and performance. His skill on the keys holds RockSool’s sonic wall in place; and his tight, melodic rhythms on the guitar help set the tone. David is highly regarded for his intricate backing tracks and exacting score design. He has shared his joy of music with countless students over 20 years as a music teacher.
Percussionist professional, Eddie Studebaker, drives the band with infectious drum beats that make crowds bob and groove. Playing since he was young, by 1983, he began working with Jefferson Starship vocalist and guitarist Marty Balin. Ed was later managed from 1985-87 by the late industry powerhouse Bill Graham in the David Elan Band. In 1996 Ed’s calling and future was foreshadowed when he joined The Drew Browne Band which later morphed into the Van Halen tribute Panama. But it was in early 2005, that Ed joined Monroe and Lauderdale in HOT FOR TEACHER and they found him to be a perfect fit for RockSkool as well.
Bassist Jesse Scott keeps the groove rolling and the bass thumping. An accomplished conductor and musical director, Jesse has a number of graduate degrees in music. He has toured both Europe and the entire United States after winning a concerto competition for the Marin Symphony. He has recorded with the Taipei Symphony on the “live” Air Supply album “Now and Forever” and later performed with the Boston Philharmonic. In 1999, he began his career teaching music before joining Panama with Ed. In late 2005, Jesse followed Ed in joining the ranks of Randy & Terry in HOT FOR TEACHER. Now he brings his awesome skills to The Red Rocker Experience as well as RockSkool.
RockSkool is capable of performing any and all requested material at a competitive price. Their incredible vocal harmonies are alone worth the price of admission! The band is based out of Northern California and has individually – and collectively – performed in virtually every type of venue. Large events such as outdoor festivals, fairs, stadiums, and casinos are perfect for RockSkool’s big sound and stage presence. Whether your event is in a nightclub, winery, casino, fair, festival, concert hall, or a private party – RockSkool is ready!
Fun, exciting, professional, and ready to Rock!
*RockSkool band mates Randy, Terry, Eddie, and formerly Jesse are also known for their dazzling performances as HOT FOR TEACHER – The Van Halen Experience. Considered one of the music industry’s favorite Van Halen acts, it became apparent through their annual NAMM performances. HOT FOR TEACHER was also voted Best Tribute Band 2008 by the readers of Northern California’s East Bay Express.

Okay, you said so and you were right! You guys officially blew us all away. Even the most jaded, new music / anti-cover band server & bartender here was absolutely amazed. Thank you for a great show and supporting our WHY Hunger cause. Our time on-air time with Steven Seaweed and KSAN 107.7 The BONE that you arranged was incredibly valuable and we filled an entire barrel with food! We had several corporate buyers in the audience and they made the connection between a private event at Hard Rock and your show immediately. You and the guys are all pros and were so amazing to work with; it was a joy. The band RockSkool ROCKS!Bob Boemer (Senior Sales & Marketing Manager – Hard Rock Cafe San Francisco)
After looking very hard for a band that could deliver the diversity of music we needed for our companies annual holiday party, RockSkool was the obvious choice. The band had our team dancing all night. Thanks to the professionalism and absolutely unsurpassed musicianship of RockSkool, our party was a success. We would hire them back again.Greg Sfarzo (Sfarzo String Company)
Congrats on putting together one of the strongest bands I’ve seen in years. RockSkool just nails it! I see everyone wanting to jump on the bandwagon!Jim Douglas (Prime Time Entertainment, Inc.)
RockSkool was the perfect band to close out our Montgomery Village Concert Series for this year! The band’s set list is, literally, the radio station’s playlist! As I was walking to the venue from the parking lot I thought I heard someone checking the PA system with a Boston CD – but it was the band doing sound check! You guys are extremely entertaining – and the audience sang along with every song. RockSkool knows how to both begin and end the show on a high note!Mike Watermann (Program Director – 97.7 The River)
RockSkool not only plays the songs like they wrote them but they are able to get the crowd completely engaged within seconds of the first downbeat.Paul Holdgate (Ibanez Guitars & All Access Inc.)
I recently worked with these guys in the recording studio and they were AWESOME… their sound is super tight, polished and professional and they were an absolute pleasure to work with!Andrew Freid (Producer, Engineer & Course Director – Expression College for Digital Arts)
Some friends and I went to Thunder Valley last night to see Lynyrd Skynyrd. They were good but we were all disappointed that they only played for about an hour and twenty minutes. We ended up having a really great night thanks to your band. All six of us agreed that it was more fun inside the casino enjoying Rock Skool’s performance. You guys were awesome! We watched, sang and danced with your band for a little over two hours. Skynyrd was good but your band made our night. Thanks for doing what you do. I signed up for your newsletter and I look forward to seeing you guys again soon.Kathleen B.
We saw you at Blackhawk Casino. Great show! You rocked it. You’re great individual musicians, and you ooze that you love what you’re doing up there. Thanks for being sociable with us an hour after the show on the mall. You’re good folks. We’ll look for you again.Rob C. and Irene R. (San Lorenzo, CA)
