The Have a Ball Foundation was founded in 2005 by two-time cancer survivor Bob Hammer.

Bob brought on board his friend and cancer survivor Steven Seaweed. Bob and Steven met in 1999 while Bob was in treatment for cancer, and headed off for Lance Armstrong’s “Ride For the Roses” event in Austin, Texas. As cancer survivors, they headed Lance’s call for the “obligation of the cured” to help those who are suffering from the disease.

Today, the Have a Ball Foundation benefits (on average) 15 different cancer organizations, has created scholarships for oncology nursing students, sends children with cancer to Camp Okizu and much more.
